Fireside Chat - Life After Robyne’s Nest
In our recent Fireside Chat, Yvette Aguayo, whose experience is working with teen youth at OC Social Services/Children's Services, reviewed many of the Life Skills students have learned, and engaged students with strategies and tips on how to Soar after Robyne’s Nest:
Finding an apartment: Tips for securing suitable housing.
Saving and budgeting: Strategies for managing finances effectively.
Meeting potential roommates: Exploring avenues to connect with new living partners.
Developing adulting skills: Learning to thrive independently and take on life's responsibilities
In its entirety, Robyne’s Nest serves students from up to 24 years old, because the path to self-sufficiency does not simply begin in high school, and does not end at 18 or with a high school diploma. Throughout their journey at Robyne’s Nest, we take a proactive approach to instill personal responsibility and empower these teens to become self-sufficient, in order to progress on their paths to becoming contributing members of the community after they leave The Nest.
