Life Skills: Nutrition

Our Robyne’s Nest students kicked off Saturday morning with Life Skills classes on Nutrition & Eating on a Budget. Cindy Brown, our Life Skills instructor, presented a comprehensive guide to basic nutrition explaining the importance of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals to maintain wellness. Students learned to read food labels, the importance of physical activity and the role caffeine and alcohol play in our daily diet.
Our director, Robyne Wood, concluded the discussion by emphasizing the importance of budgeting and sharing economical ways and places to shop, while sharing some of her tried-and-true recipes. Yum!
