Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris awards non-profit of the Year for Huntington Beach!

Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris announced her selection of Robyne’s Nest as the 74th Assembly District’s 2020 Non-Profit of the Year for Huntington Beach.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to recognize the work of Robyne’s Nest as this year’s Huntington Beach non-profit of the year,” said Assemblywoman Petrie-Norris (D-Laguna Beach). “In their six years of service, Robyne’s Nest has helped over 100 students graduate high school and hundreds more through their grab-n-go school food pantries and holiday break student food bags. I am so grateful to the team at Robyne’s Nest for their commitment to serving our community, and in particular the extra dedication they’ve shown during Covid-19 by providing services to even more students and families in need.”

"We are thrilled that our work and vision is being recognized and honored today," said Robyne Wood, Founder and Executive Director. "Our team of volunteers at Robyne's Nest work hard to make sure students are given what they need to erase barriers and the dedication shown during COVID-19 was above and beyond. Helping students that are unseen and generally fall through the cracks because there are no other resources for them is what we do best. We are dedicated to working harder to reach more students in need as this year finishes and the next begins."

Tom Williamson, President of the Robyne's Nest Board of Directors added, "We at Robyne's Nest are honored and grateful to have been named the 2020 Nonprofit of the Year for the City of Huntington Beach in Assembly District 74. I am privileged to have a front row seat to all the hard work and dedication that our volunteers contribute on a daily basis, especially during the COVID-19 closures. We are blessed to help our students with food, mental health counseling, at home activities and encouragement to finish school. These students work hard to prepare for a future full of opportunities. We work hard to give them the tools to succeed."
