Student Event - OC Zoo Day
The Orange County Zoo at Irvine Regional Park focuses on animals and plants native to the southwestern US. Many of the animals are injured, orphaned, confiscated, or unable to defend themselves, so cannot be released back into the wild.
At our zoo trip last week, students learned about the zoo’s animal preservation focus, and were able to see many animal species: black bear, mountain lion, bald eagle, kit fox, ocelot, beaver, great horned owl, porcupine, coyote and turkey vulture. The students enjoyed the animals, nice weather, were very relaxed, and had a great time getting to know one another better!
