College Creating Poverty

A thought-provoking TedxPhiladelphia discussion on whether attending college makes financial sense. Are students (and parents where applicable) utilizing the cost efficient and low-cost choices available to further their higher education? Is it wise for students to take out thousands of dollars of loans to attend a four-year college/university when they can attend a California Community College to knock out the first two years of general education at a fraction of the cost (and sometimes even for free). Getting a college degree doesn’t always guarantee success, but oftentimes straddles students with debt. It is important for students to research all available options to see which fits their life and financial means. Success isn't always about getting a degree. It's also about the life skills you learn along the way including researching options that will fit your life to make sure you are self-sufficient.
