Student Life Skills - Saying “No” to Social Pressures

Thursday evening, our Robyne’s Nest instructor Ralph Ornelas spent time with our students talking about social pressures, with a focus on strategies and problem solving ways these teens can proactively, as well as in the moment, say “no” to pressures and situations that are uncomfortable and/or unsafe for them. This class was very interactive and discussion oriented, and the take away for students was to understand the importance of staying safe and putting themselves first in social situations.

Ralph is a retired Commander with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, with an extensive background in dealing with issues that impact our youth.
