Volunteer Highlight Series -Jaleah Brown

Volunteers are a tremendous resource for our Robyne’s Nest non-profit. We recognize their importance in achieving our goal of helping our underserved population.

This month, Jaleah Brown has been selected for our Volunteer Highlight Series.

Jaleah lives in Huntington Beach with her Boxer dog, Olive. She has been an HB resident for 25 years and is fortunate that her two young adult sons live locally also.

After an exciting 37-year career as an American Airlines flight attendant, Jaleah recently retired from the airlines. Lucky for us, she found Robyne’s Nest four years ago and has been a constant and dependable volunteer. Every Tuesday morning you can find her in the front office manning phones, assisting walk-ins, answering questions, and handling all necessary clerical duties. In addition, she can always be counted on to put her talents to work at our community and volunteer opportunities throughout the year, most importantly, as the event coordinator for the annual student Christmas party.

Jaleah feels that volunteering has allowed her to witness firsthand the intrinsic nature of assistance the students receive from Robyne’s Nest to help them become self-sufficient. She shared that the Robyne’s Nest program is well-run starting at the top, with director Robyne Wood’s vision, and executed by the many dedicated volunteers, talented team members, and the support of the community. She has also been impressed with the networking and assistance the local non-profits share among themselves.

When asked to share her superhero power, one word sums it up for this amusing, fun-loving, and adventurous volunteer, “humor!”

Thank you, Jaleah! Robyne’s Nest is so fortunate to have you on the team!
