Volunteer Spotlight - Lori Brunner and Kelly Eddy

Volunteers are the life blood of Robyne’s Nest. Each quarter we normally celebrate one of our generous volunteers. This month we are celebrating two, Lori Brunner and Kelly Eddy, who volunteer together at our Threadz Thrift Shop.

From Yvonne Bailey, co-manager of Threadz: Lori Brunner is married with two daughters and one granddaughter. She is a retired special education teacher, and knows Robyne through church and her husband Peter’s Huntington Beach Rotary Club (also a supporter of Robyne’s Nest). Lori and Peter both spend a lot of time volunteering, and she is motivated to volunteer at Robyne’s Nest because she wants to help high school age kids and young adults learn important life skills.

Kelly Eddy is married with one son. She has her own business - she is a distributor of low vision devices, mostly for seniors with macular degeneration. Her hobby is sailing, and she is always on the water on weekends. Kelly has volunteered in other avenues of Robyne’s Nest, though enjoys Threadz as she used to manage in retail…this is fun for her and gives her a retail “fix”.

Both Lori and Kelly are very valuable to us at Threadz. They work at the thrift store every Wednesday night, rain or shine. We can always rely on them to cover the Wednesday shift with smiles on their faces; we never have to worry about that night. And…they both do a fantastic job of spreading the news about Threadz and bringing new customers in!
